Additional Information: Decorated collars such as this were worn by men to indicate their social status or rank. The collar is composed of red cloth wrapped around a ringlet of grasses tightly woven and decorated with cowery shells that would indicate wealth and wood carved to represent leopards claws indicating power and authority as well as fearlessness, stealth and courage attributed to leopards.
